To the Father of My Boys

Posted on: Sunday, September 7, 2008

Though we have always argued over our parenting method and the boys from what they wear to where they sleep, I have to tell you that you have been a great dad.

Though at times, you have not been as proactive as what I have wished for in a dad to be and at my moments of anger, I have screamed at you saying that you are not the greatest dad in the world and that the boys do not need you; deep down in my heart I know that you are always trying your best for the boys and how much the boys adore you.

You are great because I know as a mum; I can never replace you as dad in the boys’ heart. (no matter how much of fatherly things I try to do with the boys).

You have taught the boys humour by laughing with them;

You have taught the boys to know their limits by wrestling with them;

You have taught them to be strong through tenderness;

You have taught them how to love through the warmth you have showered on me;

You tell them stories only fathers can think off; and

You can calm them down only the way a father can do.

Most importantly, you have taught our boys that men are kind, exciting, and capable in the home and that men read books.

Over here I want to scream to you, “Dad does Matter!”

Happy Father’s Day

Welcome to The New Age Mum

Hi I am Angelia Giam! This site is basically dedicated to my 2 very precious boys who have filled my life with the all the colours of the world. It is also about me striving to lead a balance and fulfilling life with the family I have created. I have also added some basic food recipes which I have tried and tasted; and recommended some parenting books which I have read and found it to be useful as well for all to share.
